A monthly flamenco jam led by Yota Baron, dedicated to one of flamenco’s most joyful and challenging styles: Bulerías.

These sessions offer a playful, powerful and expressive experience, with plenty of room for exploration, creativity and celebrating flamenco together in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

This workshop is ideal if you already have material you’d like to develop further, if you’re looking for new steps, letras or structure, or if you want to experiment with movement, rhythm and fiesta-style choreography. It’s also a great opportunity for dancers and singers who want to practise with live singing.

Expect a dynamic, community-oriented class with live singing and curated audio material, as well as practical tools for improvisation, structure and expression. There is also dedicated time and space to create, try things out and expand your vocabulary. Guidance is in English, with space for Spanish where helpful.

The sessions are open to dancers and singers of all levels, whether you’re stepping into Bulerías for the first time or deepening your existing knowledge. Places are limited, so early registration is recommended.

The workshops take place at Maqam Amsterdam on January 25, February 7 and March 22, from 17:00 to 19:00. The price is €35 per session.
